Grace and Peace
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:2 NKJV)
Grace is a such a fickle concept, is it not. Here we have the Creator of everything there is extending His Hand not only to correct a situation that I can not, but also but to “pretend” that the situation has not happened. I use the word pretend because of the difficulty surrounding forgiveness of the bad stuff I do now and probably will continue to do…
Such a comforting thought to know that each time I mess up, I can go to my Father in heaven just to hear Him say, “Enough of that, let us enjoy each other’s company.”
Sure enough His Spirit is dealing with the parts of me that still are not allowing us to fully enjoy one another. And yet I have peace that He has borne the brunt of the battle Himself through the cross.
The Peace that comes is a peace that is born out of the realization that my battle is truly not my own but that the cost of the fight has already been paid by Jesus, together with the fact that God has breathed into me with His Spirit, to get down to the deepest part of me and turn it fully over to Him, to be purified and made holy and blameless in His sight.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:2 NKJV)
